Our History

~ Our History ~

The history of Northside Church dates back to a meeting held in the spring of 1899 by the Steubenville District of the Methodist Conference.  At that meeting it was decided to organize a Sabbath School on the north side of East Liverpool.

Out of that vision came the erection of the Orchard Grove Methodist Church, built in 1906 and dedicated December 15, 1907.

In the spring of 1977, the Orchard Grove United Methodist Church merged with the First United Methodist Church of East Liverpool.  The following winter, negotiations to purchase the building began between Boyce United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church and the Steubenville District office.  Negotiations were completed in May of 1978 and on June 18, 1978, Northside Church held its first worship service.

In 1986, Northside Church paid its indebtedness to Boyce United Methodist Church and chose to no longer be affiliated with the Methodist denomination.

Northside Church now functions as an interdenominational, fundamental Christian Church seeking to meet the needs of the congregation and the community with the truth and the principles of the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Northside Church operates as her own unique ministry within the community.

Our congregation is comprised of persons who have come from a variety of church backgrounds.  These range from individuals who have no previous Christian experience to individuals from the following types of backgrounds:  Assemblies of God, Baptist, Christian Church, Free Methodist,  Nazarene, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, and United Methodist.

Please come and worship with us, as we simply uplift Jesus.

          In His Service,

                                                      Pastor Larry Rose
